Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1950, Amalia's passion for wine began in the 1970's while living in Davis, California. "My husband was completing his residency at U.C. Davis and we would often visit the Napa Valley on the weekends. I was immediately taken with Napa's incredible wines. The first wine that inspired me was a Charles Krug 1974 and to this day, my favorite wines are Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignons."
As President of Palmaz Vineyards, Amalia is responsible for the day-to-day management of the entire winery and vineyard operation.
Amalia’s interest in food and wine led her to establish three enterprises with her daughter, Florencia Palmaz. Haute at Home is a national catalogue company offering gourmet foods for at-home dining. GoodHeart Brand Specialty Foods is a gourmet company that produces the finest quality prepared food and meats. GoodHeart SureChef is a business that provides custom recipes for its clientele in the prepared foods sector.
Her hobby is cooking and she is much loved for the wonderful meals she creates for her family at their Napa Valley home.
